gamescom 2025: How to Watch, Schedule, and What to Expect From the Event

gamescom 2025 is nearly here, and IGN is once again the official partner for gamescom studio in Germany! We'll be covering all the big news out of gamescom, and this guide will provide you with everything you need to know to watch gamescom, Xbox, and IGN's biggest livestreams, including when the biggest events - like Opening Night Live - start, a list of places you can watch them with us, what you can expect to see, and so much more.

When Is gamescom 2025?

gamescom 2025 runs from August 19 through August 24 in Cologne, Germany.

What to Expect at gamescom 2025

IGN will livestream Opening Night Live, Xbox's two streams, the gamescom Award Show, and four days of IGN's in-studio coverage with exclusive interviews, trailers, and hands-on demos from games you won't want to miss.

While we can't reveal everything that will be featured on our livestreams, there have been some teases as to what fans can expect from gamescom, including a new look at Resident Evil Requiem and the reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during Opening Night Live alongside Lords of the Fallen II, the opening cinematic of World of Warcraft: Midnight, and much more.

Hollow Knight: Silksong will also be playable at the Xbox booth on PC and the ROG Xbox Ally. Will we finally get a release date during ONL? We don't have long to find out!

Speaking of Xbox, they will have a big presence at the show, and the team has already announced it will be featuring the ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, Grounded 2, Keeper, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Ninja Gaiden 4, Overwatch 2, The Outer Worlds 2, and more during Xbox's official gamescom broadcasts.

As for IGN, we are looking forward to sharing exclusives for Borderlands 4, Marvel’s Deadpool VR, Anno 117: Pax Romana, Invincible VS, STALKER, Infinity Nikki, and so many more!

IGN will begin its gamescom coverage with Opening Night Live on Tuesday, August 19, and will continue covering all the biggest moments from the show, including on our very own live-show that will run each day of gamescom through Sunday, August 24. Tuesday, August 19

gamescom Opening Night Live (with Official Pre-Show and IGN Post-Show) - 10:30am PT / 1:30pm ET / 7:30pm CEST

Geoff Keighley is back again to host Opening Night Live for gamescom 2025. This big kick-off event will feature big reveals, trailers, gameplay, surprises, and much more. Check out our recap of all the biggest reveals from Opening Night Live 2025!

Opening Night Live's official pre-show kicks off first for 30 minutes, and then it kicks over to the main show, which will run for roughly two hours. Immediately following the show, IGN will be right here to break down all the biggest reveals from the showcase in our own ONL post-show.
