Nintendo’s 2025 Black Friday Sale is Officially Live

When it comes to games, my top pick is Super Mario Odyssey, which ranked fourth on IGN's "Top 100 Nintendo Games of All Time", for just 30 bucks. There's also Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake, Splatoon 3, and more down to just $29.99.

But, there's also some brand new deals to check out thanks to Walmart's official Black Friday sale finally going live. The retailer has undercut Nintendo's official sale, bringing games like Luigi Mansion 3, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, and more down from their original $39.99 sale price, to now just $30. That's a huge additional saving, and what Black Friday is all about.

Several third-party games also just got even better discounts as part of the new sale, including Star Wars Outlaws (including all its DLC) for $30 on Switch 2, $30 off its original list price. There's also Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds at just $30 on Switch. That's 50% off, down from $59.99, and $15 less than every other retailer. Now that's a proper Black Friday bargain!

Another top game, now under the $20 sweet spot, is Sonic X Shadow Generations, for just $15 on Switch. That includes a free Switch 2 upgrade as well. That was $25 everywhere else earlier this week, so you're saving an additional $10 on top if you've buying now. What a steal!

Final Fantasy's 1-6 Pixel Collection is also down to $39.99. That's $35 off, and the lowest price ever on the game. There are also several other big Black Friday discounts on Switch games like the Dragon Quest HD-2D Remakes, Just Dance 2026, and more.

There's also still a whole bunch of great amiibo deals that are absolutely worth your attention. Amazon has dropped Tears of the Kingdom amiibo, Riju and Sidon to $9.99, while Best Buy has matched that price on Tulin and Yunobo. Street Fighter amiibo are also discounted, sitting at $14.99 at Best Buy.

However, not all deals are yet live, and fans should keep an eye out for more discounts over the coming days as well. For example, there's Nintendo's Cyber Monday offerings to consider, from Nov. 30 - Dec. 1, including a $20 discount on more Switch 2 microSD Express cards.

If the Samsung P9 microSD card deal is still a little too steep for you, you're better off waiting until Cyber Monday to secure a discount on the 256GB memory cards instead.

Dropping from $59.99 to $39.99, this will certainly catch the attention of Switch 2 owners, especially since microSD Express cards are the only option for expanding their console's internal storage.

This is a great deal, but I'd personally still opt for the $74.99, 512GB option, as that's definitely the best deal for Switch 2 owners over Black Friday.

You can find all of Nintendo's Black Friday deals at the digital Nintendo eShop, as well as at participating retailers such as Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and Walmart.

But, notably absent from the sale are the Switch consoles. For most of the original Switch’s life cycle, Nintendo would offer the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Switch bundle during its Black Friday sale.

But this year, it's nowhere to be seen. With the Switch 2 now regularly available, the infamous bundle offering appears to have been retired, at least for now.

That said, while Nintendo isn’t offering any console discounts, you can still easily find the standard-priced Nintendo Switch 2 bundles in stock at all retailers.

They're slightly discounted compared to buying the console and game separately: Mario Kart World's bundle saving you $30, and the Pokémon bundle saving you $20.

Unfortunetly, there also aren't any official discounts on Nintendo's first-party Switch 2 games like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Pokémon Legends Z-A. But, we're still on the look out for any surprise discounts in the meantime.

How Do These Deals Compare to Last Year?

In all honesty, this year’s deals are a mixed bag. The biggest standouts this year include the amiibo discounts, Super Mario Odyssey for $30, and the Samsung P9 512GB memory card for $75.

But, we're also left wanting for most things Switch 2 related, whether that's games, accessories, or console deals. 30 bucks for a game like Super Mario Odyssey is a genuinely strong offer, but the lack of big deals elsewhere is a little disapointing.

Take, for example, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Last year, the original Switch version fell to just $29.99, which was a huge saving and a no-brainer for anyone who hadn’t picked it up yet.

This year, as there's a new Switch 2 edition that you can upgrade to or buy seperately, it's changed the dynamic completely. Say if Nintendo dropped Tears to $30 again, with a $10 upgrade, you could have the full Switch 2 version for just $40 instead of the new $70 MSRP.

But that's not the case, and a broader picture that's applicable across the entire Switch lineup this year. The gaming giant wants you happily spend $70 on games like Tears of the Kingdom for Switch 2, not $40. At least for now. For now, we can only help next year brings along some better Switch 2 deals, and keep our fingers crossed for no more price hikes.

More Black Friday Deals

Nintendo wasn't the first to kick off its Black Friday sale, as PlayStation started things off a few days ago, discounting plenty of games and dropping the price of its PS5 consoles by at least $100.

Amazon and Best Buy have already long started their official Black Friday sales, both of which will carry on all the way through to Cyber Monday on December 1.

Walmart is already featuring deals from both PlayStation and Nintendo's sales, but its official discounts don't start until November 25, or November 24 for those with a Walmart+ membership.
