Marvel Comics Unveils First-Look Preview of Amazing Spider-Man #1000 - IGN Image

Marvel's flagship The Amazing Spider-Man series is about to hit its 1000th issue, making it the first Marvel book to legitimately reach that milestone (sorry, Deadpool #1000, you don't count). With that issue releasing in September 2026, Marvel has released a new slate of variant covers and more details about the stories featured within. That includes a tale penned by none other than Fargo TV creator Noah Hawley.

Check out the slideshow gallery below to see all the covers revealed so far for The Amazing Spider-Man #1000 and interior art from Frank Miller and Peach Momoko's story:

The Amazing Spider-Man #1000 features a main story by series regulars Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz and John Romita, Jr. According to Marvel, this story serves as a major watershed moment for Kelly's ongoing run. The series recently introduced the twist that Peter has a long-lost cousin named Cormac "Mac" Crane, but it's unknown whether that has anything to do with the new revelations coming in issue #1000.

This issue also includes four backup tales from various creative teams, many of whom have left a big mark on Spider-Man in the past. Here's Marvel's official breakdown of those stories:

“Now I Can Rest” by Dan Slott and Marcos Martin brings readers back to the night that changed Peter Parker’s life in a revelatory and heartbreaking story exploring Uncle Ben’s death.

“The Gesture” by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen is a mighty team up between Spider-Man and the Avengers against some of Spidey’s greatest foes!

“Still Standing” by Noah Hawley and Patrick Gleason

“Tears of the Spider-Queen” by Frank Miller and Peach Momoko pit Spider-Man against the deadly ninjas of the Hand!

The Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will hit stores on September 16. You can preorder a copy at your local comic shop.
